So tonight I had to prep my gear for tomorrow’s aerial shoot. One awesome part about owning a Redrock rig is having the ability to create your own configurations for the needs you have. For my aerial shoot tomorrow, I needed something to give me more stability while I’m shooting out the window of the helicopter.
I remembered seeing redrocks Ultraport DSLR bundle. With having the new eyeSpy balance rig I just got, I’m able to create that same rig and actually make a rather effective handheld rig for shooting in the confined space of the helicopter. I also have the camera strap still attached which helps just that little bit more. Basically you hold the camera away from your body while letting the camera strap pull on you, which counters a lot of motion. Definitely try this configuration out when doing some handheld work. Can be a real life saver :)
